Latest Updates from American Music Awards 2022 | Bad Bunny, Taylor Swift, Drake are among the Top Artists

This has been a great year for ‘Bad Bunny‘ as he was nominated for almost all the awards during the American Music Awards 2022, the artist from ‘Puerto Rico‘ has been going through a purple patch and has given several hits this year. He has been nominated in 8 categories in the ongoing Music Awards, which even includes Best Artist of the Year which is the considered as the most high rated award of the show.

Moreover, adding to the Best Artist, he has also been nominated for the category ‘Favorite Touring Artist‘, ‘Best Pop Artist‘, ‘Best Music Video‘ and several other nominations. Speaking of all the nominations there has been only one Artist ‘Michael Jackson‘ in the past who have won the most number of awards in a calendar year and if Bad Bunny goes on to win all the awards for which he has been nominated then he would make history by equaling the awards with the great ‘Michael Jackson’.

Speaking of the female category for the most number of nominations, Taylor Swift and Beyonce have topped this year’s list by being equally nominated for six categories each. The contest have been sportingly arranged by dividing the categories into three sections that includes ‘Best Pop Album‘, ‘Best Female Pop Artist‘ and finally ‘Best Artist of the Year‘.

Although Bad Bunny is far ahead speaking in terms of nominations but there’s a tough competition from “Drake” who have been also nominated for the awards under six categories. On the other hand, there are other singers like Harry Styles, The Weekend and Adele who have been nominated under 5 categories.

If the Best Artist of the Year award goes to either The Weekend or Adele then this would be their first award under this Category. And if Harry Styles goes on to win the Best Artist Award then this would be his first title as a solo singer and third till date, Styles have already won this Award twice in the past when he used to be among the ‘One Direction’ music band.

And if we talk about the Artists who have been nominated for the first time are Jack Harlow with 4 categories, Swedish and Anitta with single nominations for each of them, Blackpink have been nominated under three categories and Latto with 3 nominations.

Elton John, the British Singer who have been nominated for one of the most honorable award i.e. “Collaboration of the Year” and also under the category for “Best Touring Artist”, making him the greatest-remembered artists in the history of AMA.

There are few new categories which are introduced from this year’s AMA that includes “Best Rock Album“, “Best Rock Song“, “Best Afrobeats Artist” and lastly there’s a special entry of Awards for all the K-Pop fans as there’s a category for “Best K-Pop Artist“.

All the fans across the country can vote for their favorite artists through VoteAmas.com and also there’s voting option available on Twitter for all the categories, the voting for the category Best K-Pop Artist will be starting from 1st November 2022.

The Winners of AMA are purely voted by the fans and there is no external manipulation to deceive the merit winners. The Nominations are established over the result of relationship build among the artists and fans that is directly reflected on the Billboard Charts that involves few criteria like track business, performance of album, streaming views and trip earnings.

All of these statistics are taken into consideration by Billboard before coming to a final conclusion for nominating the list of Artists. The period for eligibility to get nominated for 2022 Awards starts from 24th September 2021 and goes on till 22nd September 2022.

This year’s 2022 edition of the American Music Awards will be streamed lived from Microsoft Theater, Los Angeles. It will be available on “ABC” for the viewers experiencing it on television . The official date and time for the Awards is November 20th at 8:00 P.M EST.
