Marvel fans have been eagerly waiting for the return of ‘Elodie Yung‘ as Elektra whom we have already seen in Marvel Daredevil series which was originally streamed on Netflix. The Daredevil series had three season in total and the first season was released back in 2015. Now as Daredevil is all set to return back into MCU through “Daredevil: Born Again” which will be released in 2024 as revealed in the Marvel Comic-Con 2022.
So, the Marvel fans were guessing that they might get to watch the duo of Daredevil and Elektra again but recently there had been rumors all over that “Eiza Gonzalez” might be playing the role of Elektra in the upcoming Daredevil series. So, after hearing to these rumors Marvels fans got furious and they started abusing Eiza on social media by calling her a role stealer.
Eiza posted a tweet on Oct 6,2022 that “I don’t know from where these rumors caught fire but I would like to make it clear that I haven’t been casted to play the role of Elektra and I would request you all to please stop harrasing me on social media”
She said that that it has been really tough few weeks for her looking at all the hatred from people on social media. She urged everyone to please stop harassing her on Instagram and said that she would like to live with peace, putting such allegations of stealing a role or anything which i am not even aware of.
Variety identified that Gonzalez was the first choice to play the role of Elektra in Daredevil Born Again even before the event “San Diego Comic-Con 2022” took place. Few Marvel fans disagreed upon the gossiped casting of Gonzalez – Elektra as a character is Greek in Marvel comics whereas on the other hand Eiza Gonzalez is from Latina race which leaded fans to charge her of taking the role from Elodie Yung.
Gonzalez also announced that she will be featuring in Netflix’s upcoming series “The Three- Body” and it is all set to be released in 2023 and not in Marvel’s Daredevil based on some baseless rumors.
